Well, after many years of the essences being in existence, they will be featured in a book! I am so excited! A book about Astrology. Professional astrologer and teacher Suzanne Rough values them highly and incorporates them in her writing as being helpful at various stages of life - various stages through the zodiac.

This is what she writes in her book 'Making the Journey of a Lifetime:

The Glastonbury Zodiac and the Star Signature Essences

Irma Vocht, the creator of the Star Signatures Essences was born in Holland and has lived in the UK since 1986. She is a homeopath, healer and nature lover, who is passionate about the eco system on Earth and people's health and wellbeing.

The beauty of the English countryside captured her inherent love and strong connection with nature.

These are Irma’s words:

In 2004, I was invited by Suzanne to think of ideas of how the energy of the Glastonbury Zodiac could be put to positive use and serve humanity. The result was the Zodiac Sun Sign Essences which were made within the 12 zodiac signs called The Glastonbury Zodiac. At each full moon for one year. I travelled to the Glastonbury Zodiac and made an essence in the zodiac sign by the light of the full moon, starting with Aries.

The Glastonbury Zodiac is a portal of stellar energy for Earth itself, also called Star Temple, and we humans are able to use this energy to strengthen and restore on a mental level. The Glastonbury Zodiac has twelve areas that correspond to each zodiac sign.

It is a very special landscape and holds an energy that deserves respect, and is one of the most remarkable ancient earthworks in Great Britain.

This great landscape configuration spreads across 10 miles and around 30 miles in circumference. This vast landmass of zodiac figures is moulded into the landscape by mounts, rivers, roads and old boundaries as well as ancient monuments and earthworks, and altered over the centuries is most likely created and shaped by Powers of nature and cosmic forces, and can only be seen from high above.

Rediscovered in 1927 by Katherine Maltwood, there is a much earlier mention of this zodiac by John Dee, alchemist, and astrologer to Queen Elizabeth I in the 16th century.

The figures are representations of constellations in the heavens moulded into the fabric of the land. This area around Glastonbury has been known for centuries as the Twelve Hides (given to 12 early Christian missionaries led by Joseph of Arimathea, the uncle of Jesus, when he arrived here with the Holy Grail). This vast complex encompasses Glastonbury Tor and Chalice Hill in the sign of Aquarius, Wearyall Hill in Pisces, and so forth, as it weaves round the Isle of Avalon as it is known too, due to it's strong connection to Arthurian legend. Maltwood believed the Zodiac was constructed sometime around 2700 BCE, but earlier dates of 7000 BCE relating to Egypt’s Dendarah Zodiac, have also been suggested.

The Star Signature Essences in the post Pandemic World.

In many ways, that time in the early 2000s spent in Glastonbury with Irma belongs to a different world from that in which we are currently living, and challenged by many things, including the logistics of non-essential physical travel.

It was easier back then to move around and get things done. Even so, Irma’s project to make the Star Signature Essences took a lot of organisation, a lot of determination and a lot of effort. I was involved to an extent and my dog, Felix also. He soon developed strong views on which parts of the Zodiac he enjoyed visiting. No one who saw my sober and deeply conservative dog (Sun Cancer in H7 and Moon in Capricorn in H1), rocking out with abandon with the nature spirits in Sagittarius is likely to forget it!

As one can on any journey, we got hot, we got cold, we got tired, we got wet often and we got fed up occasionally, but we also had a sense of purpose. This project from conception to product was a journey, and the real leg work was done by Irma over a period of 12 months.

The products which came out of that year are, in a way, more important now than they were then, because, at the time of writing ( 2020) people living overseas may not be able to visit the Glastonbury Zodiac for some time yet, but they are able to benefit from these remarkable essences made with such dedication by Irma,

The Essences were never conceived as commercial products and were not made widely available for some years after their creation, because it was thought at that time, in those easier circumstances, it was important for people to make the effort to physically travel to the Glastonbury Zodiac and make a pilgrimage of the journey.

Now, however, we are thankful to have the option of making them available by mail order to those who cannot make it to Glastonbury at this time; although for those who can, we enclose the Twelve Stations of the Pilgrim Personality which we use on our own Pilgrimages.

Whichever route you take – the Essences or the physical journey - time spent with the energy of the Glastonbury Zodiac in the zone of an individual’s Sun Sign can re-set the life of someone ready to embrace change.
